Albums
As of July 2023, Verivery have released one full-length studio album, seven EPs, two Korean-language single albums, two Japanese-language single albums, one DIY single and two digital singles. For now, this will only count major Korean releases (i.e. no Japanese, no DIY, no OSTs, etc.) but it will be totally comprehensive soon! Also, please take music theory-type stuff with a grain of salt---I am not at all a musical professional.
Veri-Us (2019)
Released on January 9, 2019, this is Verivery's debut EP. This album has a lot of 90s inspirations in its new jack swing-inspired retro dance sound as well as the styling, and this is particularly evident in the lead single "Ring Ring Ring" and its corresponding music video. The album then has a sweet, bright yet chill song "Flower" and a semi-upbeat ballad "F.I.L." before going into "Alright", a fun song that makes you want to get up and dance! And then, the album closes off with another ballad, this time the acoustic version of their predebut digital single "Super Special". This was also the start of the "Thank You, Next?" tradition, in which there is a short CD exclusive track (generally roughly 30 seconds) after the album previewing a song from the next album. This album's Thank You, Next previews Love Line.
Tracklist:
- Ring Ring Ring
- Flower
- F.I.L.
- Alright!
- Super Special (Acoustic Ver.)
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Veri-Able (2019)
This album continues the 90s-inspired new jack swing sound that was the hallmark of Verivery's first mini-album, with From Now, the title track, being somehat similar in sound to Ring Ring Ring, but definitely faster. From Now is also especially danceable, with a chorus that hooks you. All I Do, a ballad mainstay at concerts, also has a particularly 90s-influenced sound. (The only song to really diverge from the 90s sound is Light Up, which leans somewhat into tropical house.) Love Line is one of the standout songs from this album, and was a huge fan favourite in the first few years of the fandom especially, and still is a fan favourite to this day. Unfortunately, this album didn't do as well as its predecessor, with under a million views on the From Now music video to this day. (Compare this to four million for Ring Ring Ring and upwards of sixteen million on some more recent MVs.) This album's Thank You, Next previews Mystery Light.
Tracklist:
- From Now
- Love Line
- All I Do
- Get Ready
- Light Up
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Veri-Chill (2019)
This was Verivery's first single album, released only three short months after Veri-Able. The title track, Tag Tag Tag, continues the new jack swing sound, but leans away from the colourful '90s aesthetic, with the music video and promotional materials turning to a darker concept that would be a recurring theme in their music for a few years after this and laying the groundwork for future storylines, although the song itself still sounds rather bright. Mystery Light, the b-side, is also pretty bright sounding, continuing the new jack swing sound. In terms of views, Tag Tag Tag did significantly better than From Now, but in terms of sales it sadly remains Verivery's lowest-selling album to this day. This album's Thank You, Next previews Paradise.
Tracklist:
- Tag Tag Tag
- Mystery Light
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Face Me (2020)
This album marked Verivery's first full exploration of darker concepts not only in visuals, but in music. Lay Back, the title track, is much more hip-hop-inspired than previous tracks, with an importance placed on its bassline, and a less vocal chorus. Its music video features Verivery having a dance battle against mirror versions of themselves in an abandoned school. Photo, another track, which Verivery performed on the reality show Road to Kingdom, is also darker, with repeated whispering throughout the song and an emphasis on rapping. However, this album also has lighter songs, such as Paradise, a fun tropical house song dedicated to Verrers and Curtain Call, a fun, guitar-focused song; and closes with Moment, a relaxed ballad. This album's Thank You, Next previews Skydive.
Tracklist:
- Photo
- Lay Back
- Paradise
- Curtain Call
- Moment
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Face You (2020)
This album starts off with the title track Thunder, a melodic, upbeat song with a slight creepiness whose music video features the other members searching for Kangmin, who's gone missing. Also released as a promotional single was Beautiful-X, a fun, upbeat love song, originally created for the final stage of Road to Kingdom, where Verivery set themselves apart by performing a bright song rather than other groups' dark stages. Skydive is another fresh-sounding song on the album, Connect is a hip-hop sounding song, and Privacy is a breakup ballad, initiated by the members unlike most breakup songs. This album's Thank You, Next previews Get Outta My Way.
Tracklist:
- Thunder
- Connect
- Skydive
- Beautiful-X
- Privacy
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Face Us (2020)
This album starts off with the single G.B.T.B., an electronic song with a lot of shouting as the chorus, which is perhaps the epitome of noise music. This album leans a lot more into the darker hip-hop songs compared to earlier installments in the Face It series, with three darker tracks (G.B.T.B., My Face and Get Outta My Way) which all share an electronic sound with hip-hop to some degree, and only one brighter song (Hold Me Tight) and one ballad, So Gravity, a fan favourite which has a DIY music video produced, directed and edited by Minchan. This album's Thank You, Next previews Numbness.
Tracklist:
- G.B.T.B.
- My Face
- Hold Me Tight
- Get Outta My Way
- So Gravity
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Series O Round I: Hall (2021)
This was Verivery's second single album, and the start of the Series O, which focused on facing and coming to terms with the darkness in oneself. This was their first release with six members participating, since Minchan had gone on hiatus toward the end of the promotion of Face Us. Get Away is a very melody-focused song, and the melody travels around a lot. Also notable is Gyehyeon's tongue click! Numbness has been classed as a "noise song" with electronic-sounding elements. This album was also Verivery's first to eschew their old trend of offering a standard version and a DIY version of a physical album, instead just offering two different versions. This album's Thank You, Next previews Heart Attack.
Tracklist:
- Get Away
- Numbness
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Series O Round II: Hole (2021)
This album's title track Trigger has a really cool sound and a heavily story-driven music video, continuing the story between the opposing versions of Verivery started with Get Away's music video. This album is a very upbeat one, and its production is really cool, especially with its standout tracks according to some fans, Trigger, which has a lot of electronic elements, and Heart Attack, which has a super fast, tension-building sound. It also has a more relaxing, fresh song in Prom, which has a nice vocal emphasis and COWBELL! This album's Thank You, Next previews Fallin'.
Tracklist:
- Trigger
- Underdog
- Prom
- Heart Attack
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Series O Round 0: Who (2022)
This is a digital pre-release single for Verivery's first full album, with "O", a mellow yet upbeat, groovy dance track, as the single track and "Our Spring", a relaxing, calm-sounding ballad, as the b-side. Story-wise, O and its music video are meant to serve as a prequel for the Series O, as a sort of origin story for the members' talking about their darkness. Both tracks were included on Round III, which was released about a month later. This is a digital-only single, so it has no Thank You, Next track.
Tracklist:
- O
- Our Spring
Series O Round III: Whole (2022)
This is Verivery's first full album, three years after their debut! It serves as a finale to the Series O series, with a storyline about learning to live and coexist with darkness. The album has a variety of lighter, happier upbeat tracks, such as Childhood, Wish U Were Here and Velocity; darker, hip-hop tracks such as Comin' Over, Moment and the second single Undercover; and ballads, like Candle, Our Spring and Fine, with other types of songs as well. The physical album comes in four versions, more than any other Verivery album, with two more similar to previous packaging from the Series O Round I and II, and two inspired by the art museum concept of Round 0. This album's Thank You, Next previews Motive.
Tracklist:
- Moment
- Undercover
- Comin' Over
- Wish U Were Here
- Candle
- O (previously released on Round 0)
- Fallin'
- Childhood
- Emotion
- Velocity (previously released on Soundcloud; remastered here)
- Our Spring (previously released on Round 0)
- Fine
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Liminality - EP:LOVE (2022)
After two years of darker concepts for title tracks, this is Verivery's return to bright concepts! "Tap Tap" is a pop-rock inspired, updeat, FUN dance song (and a masterpiece) that won Verivery their first two wins! The first was on Show Champion on November 23, 2022, 1,415 after their debut, and the second was on Music Bank a few days later. "Motive" is an experimental-sounding noise song, with an electronic sound. This album has Verivery's highest sales to date, with over 137,000 copies sold, reaching this milestone just two days after its release with 111,000 copies, meaning it also has Verivery's highest-ever first week sales. This album's Thank You, Next previews an as-of-yet unknown track. Fans thus speculate that Verivery's next release may be a full album, with both this album's Thank You ,Next and the following EP's Thank You, Next.
Tracklist:
- Tap Tap
- Motive
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
Liminality - EP:Dream (2023)
This is Verivery's first EP since 2021, and has some more experimental music on it! Crazy Like That, this album's title track, is remeniscent of deep house and song's like Shinee's View and F(x)'s 4 Walls in parts, and is much more relaxed and relaxing than normal title tracks, with lyrics that speak of following your dreams and a calming yet upbeat sound. Juicy Juicy is a fun, summertime love song, and Raincoat, an experimental semi-upbeat ballad, and Smile With You, a powerful slow song, were both written by the members, with memories from their trainee days. This album's Thank You, Next previews an as-of-yet unknown track, which some Verrers speculate may be included along with Liminality EP:Love's Thank You, Next in an upcoming full album.
Tracklist:
- Crazy Like That
- Juicy Juicy
- Raincoat
- Smile With You ()
- Thank You, Next? (CD only)
